Summer Games Done Quick!
My physical and mental health have been teaming up to put me in a downward spiral of despondency recently, so I'm glad Summer Games Done Quick 2020 is running right now to provide some distraction.
If you're not familiar: Games Done Quick runs charity marathons of speedrunning (which is finishing a computer game as quickly as possible). It's a great way to find out more about speedrunning because all runs are commentated with the assumption that many people are unfamiliar with the game and/or the speedrun. This particular marathon supports Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders and is online-only, for obvious reasons.
I'll be keeping it on the TV while I study/browse the internet this week. If you're watching, feel free to recommend runs to me! I don't have anything in particular I'm hanging out for this time around.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a great game and a really neat run; it's their first bonus game and I haven't checked to see how close they are to getting it but I wanna see it. (even though I'll need to go to VOD for that since it's at like midnight for me and I will be dead asleep.)
I'm really curious about the Talos Principle run, because puzzle games being speedrun is always neat to see how they break.
The Hollow Knight race will be fantastic too, I'm sure.
...I'm realising this is just most of the block starting with Portal tonight. xD; I dunno if I'll watch it all live, but I'm definitely looking at that whole 4-5hr block as something to watch later.
Other things:
- Splatoon runs are surprisingly fun, I've found
- Dogurai is cute
- I like races, so the Megaman 9 race seems fun, as does the Super Mario Bros. race
- So does the Ocarina of Time co-op randomizer
- Crypt of the NecroDancer is great for the music and generally fun to watch
- I really hope they get the Pump it Up! showcase, because holy fuck I saw that person showcasing that game sometime earlier this year and it's fantastic to watch people do rhythm games incredibly well (it's a not!DDR game)
- I'll probably watch the FFVIIR run after this is over because I like the game but it's very long

If the Pump it Up! showcase is even half as impressive as the Guitar Hero (Clone Hero) showcase from AGDQ I am definitely going to watch it.

I think there might be another one or two races I didn't catch while scrolling through the schedule, btw. :)
RIGHT! That showcase was so cool!
