I'd be interested in knowing how the prose stacks up in Weir's next. I like the Watney first person POV stuff, but found his third person POV stuff very stilted. I've got Artemis on hold at the library, but there's a long queue. ;)

I skipped the night vale book to the last couple chapters. I really wish they'd stop doing so much dancing on arachnaphobia.

Thanks for the write-up, this is very good to know! Sadly, the ideal-woman-problem is one I am familiar with from wasting my childhood reading classic scifi :(
