Notice to Animal Crossing people

Turnips are at 471 bells currently on my island and my gates are open to friends. Price will be valid for the next 10 hours (shop closes at 10pm AWST/2pm UTC).

This would happen on a week when I only bought 100 turnips, but thanks to other people sharing their high prices I don't really need the cash anymore. So I thought I should return the favour! :D

Incidentally, I was recently inspired to research whether or not they are, in fact, intended to be turnips, and my research said no: They are Sakurajima radish/daikon, a variety that regularly weighs six (6) kilograms (13 lb) but can get up to twenty seven kilograms.

Edit: Seems like this was poor research on my part! Thanks to [personal profile] lilacsigil for pointing out that kabu in Japanese is a homophone for the Japanese turnip and the stock market. The Japanese turnip also strongly resembles the icon in the game so this seems like the most likely explanation to me.
